Panada is a savoury baked pie made up according to an ancient Sardinian recipe and it is a genuine and nutritious speciality, easy to be prepared, as it takes only 25 minutes to get ready in the oven.
The dough is made by durum wheat flour, water, lard and salt.
The filling varies depending on the type of “Panada” and all ingredients are cut manually and put inside the pastry. The external part of the pastry, being quite thick, allows a perfect cooking result due to the steam. It also lets the content absorb the sauce.
Because of its versatility, it can be served as a buffet, as a first or second course and also as a component of a quick meal. Furthermore, it is considered to be a gourmet and a street food product.
